On display will be Vic Marden's, "HORSESHOE NAIL SCULPTURES" in particular his tribute to World War 1 Australian Armed Forces, which he has created in their honour. He captioned the piece as below...
"This Memorial aims to honour the sacrifice and service of Australia's servicemen and
women in World War One, and to promote appreciation and understanding of the role
those who served have played in shaping our nation".
Come to the gallery to see this sculpture, amongst his other creations.
As well as this most recent work Vic has for many years been making gold plated and chrome plated kangaroos. He was inspired by a horse-shoe nail sculpture which his daughter had sent him from America. “I looked at the way the nails had been fashioned to form a rodeo cowboy mounted on a horse-shoe base. I adapted this to come up with a kangaroo design which holds a ball point pen. Other designs include necklaces, tealight candle holders, but his proudest design is his soldiers, singly or in a Catafalque Party or recent more grand design as above.
