JULY

Adult Workshop TUNISIAN CROCHET WITH IAN

Please note this is a series of 3 sessions. 

This is a 3 week, 2 hour Tunisian Crochet Class for beginners.   

Focus is on Tunisian basic techniques using Tunisian Simple Stitch 

to provide the skills to get moving on a self sustaining Tunisian Crochet Project.

Session 1 is all about terminology, using the Tunisian hook,

getting started and practising basic stitch construction.

Session 2 introduces a pattern using Tunisian Simple Stitch that involves increase and decrease processes as well as working with seamless stitch joins.

Session 3 continues the work to refine skills.

Adult Workshop KNITTING SOFT TOYS WITH SANDY

Please note this is also a series of 3 sessions. 

This is a 3 week, 2 hour Class. The aim of this workshop is for students to create a soft toy that is safe for infants, is soft and cuddly and is made in the correct materials. Also to produce a personal touch and personality in the toy.

Session 1: discussion on safety tips with infant toys, pattern interpretation, casting on, and begin to knit panels.

Session 2: discussion any difficulties, interpreting patterns, finishing parts.

Session 3: sewing parts together, stuffing toys and detailing.

JULY

Adult Workshop SEWING MACHINE MAINTENANCE

Facilitator: Wendy Nutt

Wednesday 18th July 9.00-12 noon $20

Closing Date: 15th July

Students will learn to clean and maintain their sewing machine to a good working order including testing stitches and tension adjustments.

AUGUST

Adult Demonstration LEADLIGHTING

Facilitator: Barbara Naughton

Saturday 11th August 10.30-12.30 $10

Closing Date: 9th August

The Demonstration will cover the safety aspects of leadlighting, the steps and methods associated with construction of a project and students will have the opportunity to cut glass.

AUGUST

Adult Workshop CREATIVE PAPERCRAFTS

Facilitator: Leonie Tidey

Wednesday 22nd August 10.30-1.30 $30

The Workshop will use basic stamping, embossing, die cutting and embellishing techniques to create and assemble 2 cards, a bookmark, a small box, a mini card and an envelope.
